Dear Slate-members,

We would like to draw your attention to the upcomming EALTA conference in Innsbruck. Deadline for submissions is December 8th. The EALTA conference might be a nice opportunity to meet again and to present our work, either separately or maybe in collaboration with each other.

Below you will find some citations from the message by John H.A.L. de Jong, President of EALTA, European Association for Language Testing and Assessment:

Information on the 9th EALTA Conference can now be consulted on the conference website: or by going to the EALTA website and clicking on EALTA Conference in the menu at the left.

The conference will be held from May 30th to June 3rd, 2012 in Innsbruck, Austria. We have an enthusiastic organizing committee in Carol Spoettl and her team. I am certain they will make this conference an unforgettable experience for us all. The theme that has been chosen for the conference is Validity in Language Testing and Assessment. I am sure many of you will have things to say related to this theme. We look forward to receiving many proposals. Please use the form supplied on the website for your proposals for papers, works-in-progress and posters. The deadline for the submission is: December 8th, 2011, 24:00 GMT

We are in the process of inviting keynote speakers and leaders for a number of the pre-conference workshops. Details about these keynotes and workshops will be announced on the website as soon as they become available.

Best wishes,

John H.A.L. de Jong
